Multi-instrumentalist/producer duo AM & Shawn Lee are a veritable dream team of experimental electronic-infused pop and soul whose debut as a pair, Celestial Electric, defies easy genre classification. Back in August, KEXP featured “Dark Into Light” as one of our Songs of the Day, commenting on the effective minimalism of the synths and bass. For their in-studio, the duo expanded to a four-piece and instead crafted lush, expansive versions of album cuts, including “Dark” and “Lonely Life.” Apparently the Postal Service-style correspondence worked for the duo, and doesn’t hold them back from putting on a great live performance.
